You pay a floor. Usage eats into it.
A small monthly minimum, and metered usage that draws down against it. There is no per-seat charge, because a team of two people and thirty agents is still a team of two.
Each price is a minimum monthly spend. Usage draws down against it, and you only pay more if you use more.

Prices are in US dollars, excluding VAT. Billed monthly, cancel whenever you like.
Work out your own bill.
Rates depend on the region, so the honest way to get a number is to ask for one. This runs the same estimator the API uses, with the rates for Falkenstein.
Web service
Sleeps when idle, wakes on the next request
Background worker
Never sleeps, has no time limit. Workers start on Pro.
Estimated usage
$0.64–1.34/month
- service (shared-0.25, sleeps when idle)$0.58
- Postgres (1 GB)$0.34
- object storage (5 GB, no egress charge)$0.08
- custom domain$0.00
On Builder, you pay
$12/month
Usage sits inside the $12 minimum, so the minimum is the whole bill.

What draws the balance down.
Four meters and no others. There is no charge for a build, a seat, a deployment or a request.
Compute
vCPU and memory, charged by the hour a service is awake. A service that sleeps when idle is billed for the hours it actually served requests.
Postgres
Stored gigabytes, plus a share of the cluster the database sits on. A small database costs cents, not the price of a machine.
Object storage
Stored gigabytes. There is no egress charge, so serving a file costs the same as keeping it.
Custom domains
A monthly rate per hostname past the ones your plan includes.
Questions people actually ask.
Is $12 a licence fee?
No. It is a floor. Usage is priced per hour and per gigabyte, and it draws down against the $12 before anything extra is charged. If your application uses $4 of compute in a month, you pay $12. If it uses $20, you pay $20.
What happens if I use less than the minimum?
You pay the minimum. That is what makes it a minimum, and it is the part people usually want stated plainly rather than found out on an invoice.
Do you charge per seat?
No. A team of two with thirty agents pays the same as a team of two. Charging per person stopped making sense once most of the operators were software.
Do agents cost extra?
No. Agent keys are free to make and free to hold. What an agent builds costs what it would cost if you built it yourself, which is why each key can have a spend cap.
Can I see what something will cost before I create it?
Yes, and it is the part we care most about. cost_estimate prices a shape without building it, and every change can be run as a plan that returns its monthly cost and names the largest cost. Both are free and neither changes anything.
Where does my application run?
Falkenstein, Germany or Helsinki, Finland. Those are the only regions today. There is no US region yet, so users in North America will see more latency than on a platform with servers there.
Can these prices change?
Yes, and we would rather say so here than bury it. We buy compute, storage and bandwidth from other companies, and when their prices move ours may have to. Any increase comes with notice before it applies to you, and the rule is written in the terms.
Can I try it without an account?
Yes. cloud_init creates a temporary workspace with no email and no card, which is how an agent tries the platform with no person involved. It expires, so it is for trying things rather than running them.
Start on the trial. It costs nothing and needs nothing.
One Product for 72 hours with the full API, CLI and MCP. No card, and no email at all if the thing signing up is an agent.
