Helm7

Terms of service

The agreement between you and Maxed Labs Ltd for using the hosted Helm7 service. We have tried to write it so that reading it is not a punishment.

Section 7 covers when and how prices can change. It is the section people care about most, so it is written out in full rather than hidden in a definition.

Last updated 22 September 2026.

1.Who you are agreeing with

Helm7 is operated by Maxed Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Maxed Labs Ltd, and “you” means the person or organisation using the service.

You can reach us at [email protected] about anything on this page.

These terms cover the hosted Helm7 service at helm7.com. They do not cover the Helm7 software itself.

2.Agreeing to these terms

You agree to these terms when you create an account, when you use an API key, or when you start an ephemeral workspace. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming you are allowed to.

If you do not agree with something here, do not use the hosted service.

3.Your account, your keys and your agents

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what an agent does with a key you minted. A key speaks as the member who created it, so a call made by software is treated exactly like a call made by a person.

  • Keep keys secret. We never display a key secret twice, and we cannot recover one for you.
  • Give agent keys the narrowest scopes, a spend cap and an expiry. The tools are there and using them is your decision, not ours.
  • Tell us promptly if a key leaks, so we can revoke it. Revocation is immediate and cannot be undone.

You must be at least 18, or old enough to enter a contract where you live, whichever is older.

4.What you may and may not run

Run whatever you like, with a short list of exceptions. Do not use Helm7 to:

  • break the law, or help someone else break it;
  • send unsolicited bulk email, or run phishing or fraud;
  • attack, scan or overload anyone else’s systems;
  • mine cryptocurrency, or run anything whose main purpose is consuming compute;
  • host material that is unlawful where we operate, including content that sexualises children;
  • circumvent quotas, spend caps or plan limits, including by creating repeated ephemeral workspaces to avoid paying.

We do not read your application data to police this. We act on reports, on abuse signals from our own infrastructure, and on anything a provider tells us about.

5.What we will and will not promise

We will run the service with reasonable care and skill, keep it patched, and tell you about anything that affects your data.

We do not currently offer an uptime guarantee or service credits, and we would rather say so here than imply one. Helm7 is young and its operating record is short. A Scale-plan customer can agree specific commitments with us in writing; without that, there are none. See our status page for what we do and do not measure.

We may change how the service works. If a change removes something you rely on, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email where we reasonably can.

6.Prices, billing and what a plan price means

Each price is a minimum monthly spend. Usage draws down against it, and you only pay more if you use more. A plan price is not a licence fee and it does not buy the software, which is free. It is a floor: metered usage draws down against it, and you pay more only when your usage exceeds it.

  • Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT and any other applicable tax.
  • The plan minimum is charged monthly. Usage above the minimum is charged in arrears at the end of the billing period.
  • Estimates and plans are estimates. A costed plan is our honest projection from your current shape and recent usage, not a quote, and the invoice is what you owe.
  • There is no minimum term. Cancel whenever you like and you are billed for the period you are in, not for the ones after it.
  • If an invoice goes unpaid we will contact you. If it stays unpaid for 14 days after that, we may suspend the account. See section 8.

Card payments are handled by a payment provider. We do not store your card number. See the privacy policy.

7.Changing prices

We buy compute, storage and bandwidth from other companies. When their prices move, ours sometimes have to, and pretending otherwise would just mean a nastier surprise later. So this is written down rather than buried.

  • We may change any plan minimum or any metered rate, including where the change is caused by a change in what our infrastructure, bandwidth or payment providers charge us, by tax, or by currency movement.
  • For an increase, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email to the address on your account before it applies to you. The notice will say what is changing, by how much, and why.
  • The new price takes effect at the start of your first billing period that begins after the notice period ends. It is never applied retrospectively, and usage you have already incurred is never repriced.
  • If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before it takes effect and you will not be charged it. There is no early termination fee, because there is no minimum term. Continuing to use the service after it takes effect is how you accept it.
  • A price decrease applies as soon as we make it, and needs no notice.

If you have a written agreement with us that fixes prices for a term, that agreement wins over this section for as long as it runs.

8.Suspension and ending the agreement

You can stop at any time, from the dashboard, the CLI or the API.

We may suspend or close an account if:

  • an invoice is unpaid 14 days after we have asked;
  • section 4 is being broken;
  • something running on the account is actively harming other customers or our providers, in which case we may act first and tell you immediately afterwards.

Except where we have to act immediately, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix it. On closure, you have 30 days to export your data before we delete it.

9.Your data

Your application data and your content are yours. We do not claim any ownership of them, we do not use them to train models, and we do not sell them.

We process them to run the service you asked for, and to nothing else. Secret values are encrypted at rest and there is no endpoint that returns them, including to us through the API.

You can export your data at any time while the account is open, and for 30 days after it closes. What we collect and why is in the privacy policy.

10.Our name and our brand

The Helm7 name, logo and brand belong to Maxed Labs Ltd. You can say your product runs on Helm7. You cannot call your own service Helm7, or present a modified version as if it were ours.

11.Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties about fitness for a particular purpose.

Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business or lost data.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. We take backups and we test restoring them, and you should still keep your own.

12.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For a material change we will email the address on your account at least 30 days before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page always shows when it last changed. Price changes follow section 7 rather than this one.

13.Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not remove any protection you have under the law of the country you live in.

Before anything formal, email [email protected]. Most things are a misunderstanding, and it is cheaper for both of us to find that out first.
